...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of San Bernardino and
Riverside Counties through 800 PM PDT...
At 708 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 16
miles west of Midland, or 24 miles northeast of Desert Center, moving
north at 10 mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could kick up some blowing dust causing reduced
visibility along a strech of Highway 177 and create more
difficult handling conditions.
This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of San Bernardino and
Riverside Counties with any runoff unlikely to cause road flooding.
This includes CA Route 177 between mile markers 14 and 27.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
