Tours of CT-based 'Gilmore Girls' town open in California

Stars Hollow takes inspiration from locations like Washington, New Milford, Bantam and Litchfield

Fans of the "Gilmore Girls" television series can finally visit the fictional Connecticut town of Stars Hollow in person. It's just across the country from the real deal. 

Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood is selling tickets to a holiday event where guests can visit set pieces from "Gilmore Girls," including the gazebo, the Stars Hollow town sign, Luke’s Diner, Lorelai’s house, Mrs. Kim’s Antiques, the "Holiday Armadillo" costume, the Bjork Snowman and Doose’s Market until Jan. 1, according to its website. The event takes place at the studio's Midwest Street Backlot, where parts of the show were filmed. 

Much of the fictional Connecticut town drew inspiration from locations like Washington, New Milford, Bantam and Litchfield, according to the state's tourism office. The show centers around the relationships of single mother Lorelai Gilmore (played by Lauren Graham) and her daughter Rory Gilmore (played by Alexis Bledel).

Guests can take a guided tour of the area to learn about other Warner Bros. movies like "National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation," "Elf" and "Gremlins."  

Hungry visitors can grab a bite to eat at Al’s Pancake World (a location that is mentioned on the show but never seen), which has menu items like pizza, chicken tenders, cheeseburgers, and egg rolls, according to There are also places to buy coffee and Pop-Tarts, which were frequently in the diet of characters in the show. 

Visitors can pick up a free button saying "Team Jess," "Team Logan" or "Team Dean" to display their loyalty to their favorite character who had a relationship with Rory Gilmore, according to

There will also be "Gilmore Girls" merchandise available for purchase via pop-up shops in the studio, including a jacket that looks like the one that Lorelai Gilmore wears. 

Tickets are on sale online with prices ranging from $69 to $299.
