Wilton residents (and nextdoor neighbors) Gregory Bauerfeld and Jamie Fagan were part of the silver medal-winning team from Norwalk River Rowing Association at the 2013 US Rowing Club National Championships. The competition included 96 rowing clubs from across the country and 1,500 crews. From July 10-13, the rowers endured high temperatures, downpours and flocks of geese as they raced in time trials, semifinals and finals on the 2,000 meter course on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J. A total of 22 athletes from NRRA participated in the event. At least one Norwalk boat progressed from time trials into the semifinals in just about each event. Several boats from NRRA made it to the finals. The Men\u2019s Junior B 4+, which was second, featured Bauerfeld, Fagan, Kris Petreski, Brian Helms and Liam McDonough. The Men\u2019s Junior B 2x (McDonogh and Petreski) finished third, and the Men\u2019s Intermediate Lightweight 2 (Jon Massari and Matt Koenigsberg, both Wilton residents) placed fifth in the final. The Men\u2019s Junior 2-, featured Chad Ballard and Joe Blake (from Wilton) placed sixth in the final. Other Wilton residents who rowed at Club Nationals for Norwalk River Rowing Association were Ryan Cunningham, Luke Goodwin, James Koenigsberg, Patrick Lyon and Ryan Solecki. In the Women\u2019s Intermediate 4+ (for college-aged participants), Alex Stonehill, Caroline Demko, Catherine Nohre, Maggie Walsh and Stacy Neul placed sixth in the final.
