The Wilton Little League softball 12-under district all-star team begins the District One tournament on Thursday, hosting Darien at 5:45 at Middlebrook School.

Wilton plays Darien for the championship in a best two out of three series. Game two is on Saturday at Darien’s Challenger Field at noon. Game three, if necessary, will be at Middlebrook on Monday at 5:45.

Members of this year’s all-star team are Hannah Belanger, Brianna Catino, Emma Cropper, Jayne Guglielmo, Emily Kaufold, Cate McCabe, Juliana Musilli, Emily O'Brien, Kelley Osterberg, Sophia Strazza and Betsy Wallace. Managing this year’s team is April Strazza with coaches Patrick Cropper and Laurie Musilli.

“These girls are no strangers to playing on an all-star team,” commented manager Strazza. “All of these players have participated on either a travel or district team in previous years. This unique team hopes to win the tournament this time around.”

The team is led by a strong pitching staff. Strazza, Catino, Musilli and Cropper will be taking the mound.

Rounding out the infield is catcher Belanger, first baseman McCabe, second baseman Kaufold, Strazza at shortstop and Musilli at third base.

Outfielders include Guglielmo, O’Brien and Cropper. Playing both infield and outfield will be Osterberg and Wallace.
