Wahoos hit regional times at Halloween meet

More than 80 swimmers from the Riverbrook YMCA Wahoo Swim Team competed at the Halloween 12 and ‘Spooktacular’ meet on Oct. 29 at the Y.

Many Wahoo swimmers placed in the top 10, and all swimmers who attended achieved Connecticut Swimming Regional Championship meet eligibility times.

There were a total of 387 swims of which 136 were best times, and 186 were new legal swims for the first time, making the success rate 83%. A total of 17 swimmers achieved their first ever ‘B’ time standards, per USA Swimming’s 2017-2020 Motivational Age Group Time Standards, which are designed to encourage age group swimmers to step their swimming up to the next level.
