Three Wilton Y gymnasts win titles at Snowflake Invitational

The Wilton branch of the Riverbrook YMCA was packed for the third year in a row with more than 300 high-flying gymnasts on Dec. 10-11, as seven teams from Connecticut, New York and Rhode Island competed at Wilton’s Snowflake Invitational.

Three Wilton team members — Ashley Umhoefer, Jeni von Bartheld and Olivia Mannino — were all-around champions for their level age-group divisions.

The Level 5 squad took second place, while the Levels 3, 6 and 7 took third places and Level 4 took fourth place.

Results for Wilton Y gymnasts were:

Level 3

In the nine-year-old age group, Cailyn Cruickshank finished fourth on beam, fifth on floor (9.0) and scored a 9.45 on vault.

In the 10-year-old age group, Kaelyn Talisse finished third in the all-around and placed second on beam (9.0) and floor (9.05) and fourth (9.525) on vault. Teagan Stengrim placed fourth on beam and scored a 9.0 on vault.

In the 11-year-old age group, Jeni von Bartheld was the all-around champion, placing first on bars (9.5) and beam (9.3), third on floor (9.1) and fifth on vault (9.2). Geneva Southworth placed third in the all-around, with third-place finishes on vault (9.6) and bars (9.2).

Ella Mancuso placed fourth in the all-around, placing first on floor (9.4) and third on beam (9.2). Sophia Vitti placed fifth in the all-around with first on vault (9.8) and fifth on floor.

Elizabeth Fahey placed fourth on vault (9.5) and beam (9.1) and fifth on floor. Isabella Silverstein placed third on vault (9.6) and Fiona Walsh scored a 9.0 on vault.

In the 12-over age group, Mckayla Iacoponi placed third in the all-around, second on beam (9.0), and fourth on vault (9.55) and floor. Maddie Mosquera placed second on beam (9.0), third on floor and earned a 9.1 on vault.

Level 4

For ages 9-10, Alyssa Mariani placed second on vault, fifth on bars and scored 9.0 on floor. Lauren Condon placed fifth on vault.

In the 11-year-old age group, Alyssa Smeriglio placed fourth in the all-around, second on bars (9.2) and third on floor (9.3). Ella Arghirescu placed fifth on beam (9.05).

In the 12-over age group, Isabella Giordano placed second on floor (9.1). Simona Gheorghe placed third on vault (9.2) and fourth on beam. Samantha Bauer placed fourth on vault and fifth on bars. Gemma Huck placed third on floor (9.05).

Level 5

Ashley Umhoefer was the all-around champion in the 9-11 age group, placing first on floor (9.5) and bars (9.35), second on vault (9.6) and fifth on beam.

In the 12-over age group, Alyson Scheurkogel placed second in the all-around, and was first on bars (9.25), second on beam (9.1), third on floor (9.1) and fifth on vault (9.2).

Kaylie Berghaus placed fourth in the all-around, and took first on bars (9.25), fourth on floor (9.05) and scored 9.1 on vault.

Chloe Jureller placed second on vault (9.5) and floor (9.2). Ava Walker placed fourth on beam.

Michaela Kane placed third on bars and scored 9.0 on vault. Donna Stepnowsky placed fifth on floor (9.0) and scored 9.05 on vault.

Level 6

Olivia Mannino was the all-around champion in the 12-14 age group, placing first on bars (9.2), second on beam (9.55), and fifth on floor (9.0) and vault.

Peyton Gildersleeve placed second on vault (9.15). Isabella Jureller placed third on beam (9.35) and fourth on vault (9.0). Emily D’Onofrio placed fourth on vault (9.0). Emilia Riina placed fourth on floor (9.05) and fifth on bars.

In the 15-over age group, Jenna Smeriglio placed third in the all-around, and was second on floor and third on bars, beam and vault.

Level 7

In ages 7-11, Sarah Cross placed second in the all-around, and was second on floor (9.0), vault (9.0), bars and beam. Mia Karlehag placed third in the all-around, and took third on vault (9.0), bars, beam, and floor.

Sarah Collins scored a 9.1 on vault in the 12-14 age group.

In the 15-over age group, Kate Ginsburg placed second in the all-around and first on bars, and was also second on beam (9.2), third on vault (9.0) and fifth on floor. Alyssa Jarrett placed fifth in the all-around, third on bars, fourth on floor, and fifth on beam and vault.

Level 8

In the 16-over age group, Alessandra Uriarte placed second in the all-around, taking first place on bars and beam and second place on vault.
