The Wilton High baseball team clinched a berth in the FCIAC playoffs by beating Fairfield Ludlowe, 11-6, on Wednesday. The Warriors (14-5 overall, 12-5 FCIAC) are now fifth in the conference overall standings going into Friday's regular-season finale against winless Bassick (0-19). With Wednesday's victory over Ludlowe, Wilton is assured of one of the eight spots in the FCIAC playoffs, which begin next week. If the current standings hold, the Warriors would play Staples in the conference quarterfinals next Tuesday in Westport. Wilton opened a 10-1 lead over Ludlowe through four innings. After walking the leadoff batter in the fifth inning, Wilton starter JT Morin was relieved by Sean McEwen. Ludlowe went on to score four runs in the inning to pull\u00a0within 10-5. But the\u00a0Falcons\u00a0could get no closer, as Wilton went ahead 11-5 before Ludlowe got the game's final run. Jackson Ward was the batting star for the Warriors, going 3-for-4 with four RBIs.
