Watch live: Wilton vs Greenwich boys soccer on HAN Thursday

The Wilton High boys soccer team won't need to wait long to discover how it measures up to a league power. And you can watch them live on the HAN Network. Two days after opening the 2015 season at home against Bridgeport Central, the Warriors travel to Greenwich Thursday, Sept. 17, to face one of the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference favorites this fall. Greenwich has a wealth of players returning from last year's 16-4-2 team, which lost to Fairfield Ludlowe, 1-0, in the conference title game and Farmington, 2-1 in overtime, in the Class LL state semifinals. The Cardinals' top returnee is also among the state's top players: Senior forward Nick Bartels. Bartels scored 29 goals and added 16 assists in 2014, earning All-FCIAC and All-State honors. Wilton, meanwhile, has its own designs on entering the conference's upper echelon this year. The Warriors feature a program-record 23 seniors, many of whom featured prominently on last season's 8-7-3 squad, which qualified for both the FCIAC and state tournaments. Wilton's strength could be its central defense, anchored by seniors (and returning starters) Patrick Prinner and Matt Ravichandran. Ravichandran was an All-FCIAC first team selection last year, while Prinner made the All-FCIAC East squad. They will look to keep the heat off goalies Grey Livingstone and Mitchell Bascom, who are tasked with replacing Will DeSantis (All-FCIAC East) in net for the Warriors. Senior Jack Brandt, a first team All-FCIAC choice in 2014, gives Wilton a legitimate threat up front. Brandt led the team a year ago with eight goals and 11 assists. Senior Jordan Lord, a senior captain along with Brandt, Prinner and Ravichandran, should be a stalwart in midfield for the Warriors, with classmates Josh Reeve and Henry Allers having the potential to be significant contributors on offense.
