The Wilton High baseball team lost its second consecutive game on Monday afternoon, falling to host Darien, 8-2. The Warriors are now 7-6 overall and 4-5 in the FCIAC. Darien scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a quick\u00a02-0 lead. Wilton tied the score in the top of the second, but the Blue Wave answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning to go ahead, 5-2. Darien added one run in the fifth and two in the sixth to complete the scoring. In the top of the second, Wilton's Henry Hovland singled, stole second base and went to third on Jack Dooley's single. Matt D'Elisa then singled in Hovland with Wilton's first run. Glenn O'Brien followed with an RBI on a fielder's choice, temporarily tying the game at 2-2. Jack DiNanno then singled, but the next batter was retired on a groundout to end the\u00a0rally. Wilton starter\u00a0Glenn O'Brien pitched one-plus innings, leaving with no outs in the bottom of the second. O'Brien was charged with five runs, two earned. Jack Mastrianna relieved O'Brien in the bottom of the second with the\u00a0bases loaded and no outs and\u00a0was able to get out of the inning without allowing any more runs. Mastrianna induced a double-play groundout for the final two outs. Notes: Dooley had two of Wilton's six hits. Darien improved to 11-2 overall and 7-2 in the FCIAC.
