Wrestling: Warriors pull out another close one

The Wilton High wrestling team scored its second one-point victory in eight days on Wednesday, this time a 42-41 win at Brien McMahon.

The Warriors (7-2) trailed the Senators 41-30 after 12 bouts but closed out the match with pins by Stephen Kendra at 285 pounds and Max Mannino at 106 pounds for the one-point win.

The Warriors also got victories by pin from Travis Longo at 106 pounds, Seth Warren at 152 and Zach Zeyher at 170, while Finn McGovern (120) and Nick Rende (132) both won by forfeit.

Head coach John Foldeak also praised Dom Carotozzolo, who refused to be pinned in a 15-0 loss at 138 pounds.
