For the second straight match, the Wilton High wrestling team went down to the wire to pull out a win.

The Warriors, who came back in the final match to beat Brien McMahon by a point last week, this time edged Warren Harding by a point on Wednesday in Bridgeport, 43-42.

The competition ended in a 42-42 tie, with the Warriors taking the tiebreaker based on the criteria used, which was having more matches where they scored the first point. Wilton scored the first point in eight of 14 matches.

The Warriors got first-period pins from Nick Rende at 122 pounds, Quinn Reedy at 134 (in only 10 seconds), Zach Zeyher at 160 and Jared Gladstein at 184.

Matt Beck had a second-period pin at 154 pounds.

Winning forfeits were Travis Longo at 108 pounds and Finn McGovern at 115 pounds.

Wilton improved its record to 4-6 overall, and 2-2 in the FCIAC.
