Wrestling: WHS falls to Westhill in finale

The Wilton High wrestling team closed out the regular season on Tuesday with a 42-32 loss at home against Westhill.

The team’s five seniors — Ethan Helman, Finn McGovern, Nick Rende, Seth Warren, and Zach Zeyher — were honored at the match as part of Senior Night.

Winning by pin for Wilton were Rende (128 pounds), Warren (154) and Zeyher (184), while Max Mannino (108) and Travis Longo (115) both won major decisions. Robb won by forfeit at 172 pounds.

The Warriors (8-4) begin the postseason on Friday and Saturday with the FCIAC championships at New Canaan High School. The action begins Friday at 4:30 with the round of 16, and continues on Saturday morning at 10. The championship matches begin at 4.
