Wrestling: Sakamoto, Fraccaroli second at FCIAC championships

The Wilton High wrestling team had two finalists, along with two other place winners, at the FCIAC championships on Saturday in New Canaan.

At 152 pounds, Andrew Sakamoto finished second after reaching the finals with two pins and an 8-3 decision over second-seeded Jack Freihert of Greenwich. He lost to top-seeded Steve Briganti of Trumbull in the finals, 7-0.

At 285 pounds, Joey Fraccaroli placed second, losing in the finals by pin to top-seeded Ahmed Hourani of Warde. He had pinned Chris Fischer of Greenwich in the semifinals.

Ken Pokora finished third at 160 pounds, winning three straight matches in the wrestlebacks. At 182 pounds, Dan Holland lost a 3-2 decision to Isaac Chevron of Westhill in third-place match and finished fourth.

The Wilton team finished ninth.
