Wrestling: Gladstein, Rende win tourney; Zeyher, Reedy, Longo, McGovern place

TraThe Wilton High wrestling team had a pair of champions at the Fairfield Warde Tournament on Saturday, along with three other place finishers.

Senior Jared Gladstein and sophomore Nick Rende both continued their stellar seasons by claiming titles.

Gladstein took first at 182 pounds, with a third-period pin over Matt Cuoco of Warde in the championship match.

Rende captured the title at 113 pounds, scoring a 7-1 decision in the finals over Kasim Kahn of Prep.

Sophomore Zach Zeyher also continued his strong season, finishing third at 160 pounds thanks to a 10-3 decision over Jack Bosken of Fairfield Prep in the consolation finals.

Quinn Reedy, a senior, placed fifth at 132 pounds, thanks to a pin of Dominic Leckie of Stamford in the fifth-place match.

Freshman Travis Longo, wrestling up a weight class, placed fifth at 108 pounds, and sophomore Finn McGovern was sixth.

Wilton finished eighth out of 15 teams at the tournament, which was won by Fairfield Warde.
