Wilton's Morin pitches two-hit shutout in 1-0 win over Norwalk

JT Morin pitched a two-hit shutout as the Wilton High baseball team edged Norwalk, 1-0, on Thursday night in Wilton.

Morin (4-2) walked three and struck out six, with Norwalk's two hits (both singles) coming on a check-swing and an infield pop-up that was lost in the lights.

Wilton got the game's only run in the bottom of the first. With two outs, Brett Phillips doubled and then went to third on a wild pitch. Phillips scored on Alex Jacobson's RBI single.

Norwalk got the leadoff runner on in the bottom of the seventh, but Morin struck out the next batter and then induced a game-ending double play on a ground ball.

Wilton raised its record to 8-6 and also clinched a berth in the state tournament with its eighth win.
