Wilton girls soccer team routs Trinity

The Wilton High girls soccer team put an eight spot on the board in the first half Monday, cruising to an 8-1 victory over winless Trinity Catholic at Kristine Lilly Field.

The win extended the Warriors' unbeaten streak to 10 games (seven wins, three ties). Wilton is now 9-2-3 with two regular-season games left.

Wilton got two goals apiece from freshman Ashley Vitarelli and senior co-captain Lindsay Knutson, and one goal each from Haley English, Melissa Luse, Karen Brosko, and Brooke Connolly. Casey Tucker assisted on four Wilton's goals.

With a commanding lead, Wilton played possession in the second half and worked on passing. The Warriors committed 15 off-sides penalties in the game.

Zoe Lamason played in goal for Wilton in the first half and English was in net in the second half. Never goalie was credited with a save.
