Wilton girls soccer team routs Central (updated)

Laine Parsons and freshman Paisley Eagan combined for five goals as the Wilton High girls soccer team routed Bridgeport Central, 11-1, on Monday at Lilly Field.

The Warriors improved to 3-0 with the lopsided victory.

Bridget Dwyer got things started for Wilton just 4:10 into the first half with a goal off a direct kick from about 25 yards out.

Parsons followed less than two minutes later with her first of three goals for a quick 2-0 lead.

Two more goals by Parsons and single scores from senior co-captain Hannah Maatallah, Eagan and Haley English accounted for a 7-0 Wilton lead at halftime.

The Warriors added second-half goals from Madison Peraino Julie Kobyra, Casey Tucker and Eagan to push their advantage to 11-0.

Central got its lone goal of the game — and first of the season — when Karen Garcia scored with 6:18 to play.

Notes: Hana Previte was in goal for the Warriors.

English scored the only goals in Wilton's season-opening 1-0 wins over Danbury and Stamford last week.
