The Wilton High girls tennis team finished its dominating state tournament run with a 6-1 victory over ninth-seed RHAM in the Class M finals Friday at Yale University in New Haven.

It was the 11th state title in program history but the first since 1997. The Warriors lost to New Canaan in the Class M finals in 2005, 2009 and 2010.

All six of Wilton's victories on Friday came in straight sets. Winning singles matches for the seventh-seeded Warriors were Maddi Stow (6-0. 6-2), Brooke Connolly (6-0, 6-1) and Allie Schaefer (6-0, 6-0).

Adding doubles wins were the teams of Javiera Fiol and Maya Srivastava (6-0, 6-1), Maddy Murphy and Bridget Cott (6-3, 6-1), and Kaitlyn Zheng and Ally Shay (6-0, 6-0).

RHAM's only point came at fourth singles as Wilton's Sammy Augenbraun retired with a wrist injury. Augenbraun had won the first set, 6-2, against RHAM's Alex Cascio, and Cascio was ahead 5-1 in the second set when Augenbraun retired.
