Wilton girls romp past Harding

The Wilton High girls basketball team quickly disposed of Warren Harding on Friday night, routing the Presidents, 81-22, in Bridgeport.

It was the 15th straight win for the Warriors, who are now 15-1 overall.

Wilton shut out the Presidents, 25-0, in the first quarter and was ahead 42-3 at halftime.

The Warriors were led by Erica Meyer, who had 17 points and nine rebounds. Erin Cunningham added 13 points, while Caylin Cannavino had 11 points and Hannah Maatallah finished with nine points.

Maatallah contributed eight rebounds and eight assists, and Cannavino had seven rebounds.

All of Wilton’s 14 players who dressed for the game scored points.

Wilton is back home on Monday (weather permitting) to play the Darien Blue Wave. Tip-off time is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Notes: Cunningham now needs 52 points to reach the 1,000-point mark for her career. She would become the third Wilton player to score 1,000 or more points.
