Wilton girls lax team to face New Canaan in FCIAC semis

The Wilton High girls lacrosse team continues its quest for a conference championship when it meets New Canaan in an FCIAC semifinal game Wednesday at 5 in New Canaan.

Wilton is seeded second and New Canaan third in the eight-team field.

The winner advances to face either top-seed Darien or fourth-seed Greenwich in the FCIAC title game on Friday at 4 at Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk. Darien is the two-time defending champion.

Wilton moved on to the semifinals by beating seventh-seed Danbury, 12-3, in the conference quarterfinals last Friday in Wilton.

The Warriors have won six FCIAC championships, with the last coming in 2011.
