Wilton girls hoop stretches win streak to 11 games

The Wilton High girls basketball team keeps rolling over its FCIAC opponents at an eye-catching rate.

The Warriors traveled to Stamford on Thursday and routed Westhill, 69-33, for their 11th consecutive win.

Wilton (11-1), which led 17-12 at the end of the first quarter, broke the game open in the second quarter and cruised to the victory. Wilton held a 37-18 advantage at halftime, and was ahead 59-25 after three quarters.

The Warriors were led by Makenna Pearsall, who had another solid all-around game. Pearsall finished with a game-high 13 points and added seven rebounds, seven steals and five assists.

Haley English and Erica Meyer had 11 points each, and Erin Cunningham and Hannah Maatallah each contributed eight points. Meyer had eight rebounds and Cunningham had seven rebounds for the Warriors.

Wilton is back on the court Tuesday at home and will face Bridgeport Central.
