Matt Shifrin and Eric Houska combined for 43 points and center Peter Ciaccio added a double-double as the Wilton High boys basketball team rallied to defeat University-Hartford, 69-64, in the championship game of the Newtown Holiday Tournament on Monday night at Newtown High School.

The Warriors trailed 36-28 at halftime but then outscored University, 41-28, over the final two quarters to get the victory.

Shifrin hit six three-pointers and finished with 25 points to lead Wilton. Houska added two treys and had 18 points, while Ciaccio contributed 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Lucas Savoie chipped in with nine points for the Warriors, who raised their record to 3-1.

Michael Gilliam led University (3-1) with 25 points.

Notes: Shifrin and Houska were both named to the All-Tournament team.
