Two second-half goals snapped a tie game and gave the Wilton High boys soccer team a 3-1 road victory over St. Joseph on Monday in Trumbull.

The win pushes the Warriors' record to 4-1.

Wilton took a 1-0 lead into halftime, but the Cadets got the equalizer early in the second half. The tie didn't last long, as the Warriors answered two minutes later to retake the lead.

Wilton then added another goal to close the scoring and get the win.

Wilton goals came from Michael Lynch, Patrick Prinner and Josh Reeve. Chauncey Allers picked up two assists and Brandon Turk had one.

Prinner’s goal came off a rebound as he out-hustled the St. Joseph goalie to the free ball. Prinner and the keeper both slid to the ball, with Prinner winning out for the score.

The Wilton goals were the result of organized rushes to move the ball up the field. The Warriors controlled the tempo and flow and demonstrated better overall team play.

"We still have things to work on, but this was a much better win that we had against Central," said Wilton head coach Jim Lewicki. "We built our attack up the field to get in position for the goals instead of kicking the ball up the field, hoping to maintain possession."

Wilton outshot the Cadets, 9-4.
