Wilton boys second, girls third at FCIAC track divisionals

The Wilton boys indoor track and field team finished second and the Wilton girls squad was third at the FCIAC Eastern Divisional championships Friday at the Zeoli Field House.

The Wilton (77 points) boys were the runner-up to Darien (139.50 points), while the Wilton girls (54 points) were third behind Darien (128) and Fairfield Warde (65).

The Wilton boys team had five first-place finishes, including wins in three of four relays.

Konrad Kotonski, Andrew Nisco, Chris Colbert and Colin Hussey combined to win the 4x225-meter relay (1:54.29); Aaron Breene, Spencer Brown, Peter Hermann and Daniel Marino triumphed in the 4x375 relay (3:28.98); and John DeAngelis, Nick DiCorato, John Guth and William Glynn prevailed in the 4x750 relay (8:45.87).

Individual victories came from Spencer Brown in the 1,000-meter run (2:35.70) and Calvin Wardle in the pole vault (11'0").

The Wilton girls got relay wins from Lilla Seymour, Jillian Lauricella, Melissa Luse and Laine Parsons in the 4x375 relay (4:11.09), and Carly Lattimer, Luse, Christine Troller and Pippa Gosden in the sprint medley relay (4:25.68).

Parsons added a first-place finish in the 600 with a time of 1:44.09.
