Wilton boys hockey hangs tough in loss to Greenwich

Playing its second game in two days against a Division I opponent, the Wilton High boys hockey team gave Greenwich, the state's top-ranked team, a battle before losing, 8-4, on Tuesday in Greenwich.

The Warriors fell behind 3-0 after the first period, but then got goals from Kyle Jonas and David Craven early in the second period to pull within 3-2.

Greenwich followed with two goals, but once again Wilton responded. Craven scored on an assist from Jonas, and Ned Zawislak added a power-play goal to cut the Cardinals' lead to 5-4 through two periods.

Greenwich then got third-period goals from Ian Fulton, Montana Larson and Mike Mozian to finally secure the victory and remain unbeaten in its last 14 games.

Wilton, which lost to East Haven, 5-4, on Monday, is now 6-10 overall this season.
