Wilton boys hockey falls to Tigers in OT

Sam Sarath’s goal off a rebound in overtime gave the Ridgefield High boys hockey team a tougher-than-expected 1-0 victory over Wilton on Wednesday afternoon at the Winter Garden.

Liam Smith got an assist on Sarath’s goal, which came at 4:14 of the overtime period.

Wilton got a great effort from goalie Derek Prario, who finished with 40 saves, as the Tigers had a significant advantage in shots on goal.

With the win, Ridgefield ended the regular season with a 16-4 overall record and an 11-1 mark in the FCIAC. The Tigers will next compete in the conference playoffs.

Despite struggling this season, Wilton entered the contest on a three-game winning streak. The Warriors are now 5-10-3 with two regular-season games remaining.
