Wilton athletes headed to play college sports

Nineteen Wilton High School athletes who have committed to play college sports gathered for a photo ceremony at the Zeoli Field House on Friday afternoon.

The group included six boys lacrosse players — Harrison Bardwell (Cornell), Michael Brown (Brown), RJ Romeo (Providence), James Arbisi (Widener), Harrison Koch (St. Lawrence), and Matthew Brody (Endicott) — as well as two girls lacrosse players — Olivia Phelan (Babson) and Lilla Seymour (Skidmore).

In addition to Bardwell, Brown and Romeo, the Wilton athletes going on to play at the Division I level are swimmer Emma Holmquist (University of Pennsylvania), water polo player Charlie Owens (Harvard), and field hockey players Jillian Mahon (Michigan State) and Amanda Hendry (North Carolina).

Going on to play Division III college sports are: Brennan Ryan (Oberlin, baseball); Justin Hoelzl (SUNY Geneseo, track); Samantha Florio (Dickinson, swimming); Madeleine Stow (Middlebury, tennis); Macallan Fox (Dickinson, track); Katrina Trentos (Trinity, swimming); Brooke Hendee (Trinity, swimming); and Jack Brandt (Franklin & Marshall, soccer).
