T.J. Hayduk's seven-yard touchdown reception with 30.5 seconds left to play gave the Trumbull football team a dramatic 32-28 victory over host Wilton on Friday night at Memorial Stadium.

Trumbull trailed 28-19 with 2:31 remaining in the fourth quarter but rallied for the win. Marc Cesare scored on a one-yard run to pull the Golden Eagles within 28-25 after the extra point was blocked. Trumbull then recovered an onsides kick to set up its winning touchdown.

The loss overshadowed a standout performance from Wilton quarterback Brett Phillips, who ran for more than 300 yards and two touchdowns and also threw for two touchdowns.

Phillips' 14-yard run in the second quarter accounted for the only score of the opening half, which ended with the Warriors ahead, 7-0.

Wilton's other touchdowns came on a 52-yard pass from Phillips to Dan Baird, an 11-yard pass from Phillips to Patrick Ryan, and a 33-yard run by Phillips.

The Warriors fell to 3-4 with the loss, while Trumbull improved to 6-1.
