Tough day for Wilton baseball, softball teams

The Wilton High baseball and softball teams were both roughed up by their Westhill opponents on Wednesday.

In Stamford, the Wilton High baseball team managed just two hits in a 9-0 loss to Westhill.

An error in the fourth inning helped Westhill (3-1) score seven runs and put the game away.

Two Westhill pitchers held the Warriors (1-4) to two hits, with one of those a double by Brett Phillips.

Meanwhile in Wilton, the Westhill softball team rolled to a 16-1 victory over the Warriors in a game that was stopped after five innings due to the run rule.

The Vikings (2-2) scored 15 runs in the first three innings, with Adriana Gambino contributing four hits, including a two-run homer.

Eliza Ward had a double for Wilton (0-5), which was limited to four hits.
