Eliza Ward had four hits, including two doubles and a walk, in five plate appearances as the Wilton High softball team downed Staples 10-4 on Monday in Westport.

Ward also scored two runs and had two RBI in the win, which was Wilton’s second in a row. The Warriors are now 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the FCIAC.

Sophia Strazza had three hits, 2 RBI and two runs scored, and narrowly missed hitting a home run on a drive to centerfield.

Maya Farrell went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored, and Maddy Christl went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Sage Zunda went the distance on the mound, allowing nine hits and striking out three.

Wilton jumped on top with two run in the top of the third and added three runs in the fourth to lead 5-0. The Wreckers plated an unearned run in the fifth, but Wilton answered with three in the top of the sixth to make it 8-1.

The Warriors added two more in the top of the seventh to go up 10-1. Staples scored three runs on four hits in its final at-bat.

The Warriors pounded out 14 hits in the win. Also getting in on the action were Hannah Belanger (walk, two runs), Zunda (hit, RBI, run), Juliana Musilli (hit), Iso Casiraghi (walk, run) and Claire Wilson (run).

For Staples (2-4), Ashley Constantine and Taylor Rochlin each had three hits, while Alison Green had two hits and scored two runs.
