
The Wilton High boys skiing team continued its strong start by sweeping four more opponents in Wednesday’s second race of the season at Mt. Southington.
The Warriors finished second out of 14 teams on the hill with a combined team time (top six finishers) of 275.48.
In head-to-head competition, Wilton scored wins over Weston (283.54), Glastonbury (297.49), Joel Barlow (297.59) and Cheshire (308.6).
The Warriors are now 8-0 on the season, and 4-0 in the small school division.
Freshman Christian Theoharides again led the way, placing fourth overall with a combined time (two runs) of 44.81.
August Theoharides finished 15th in a time of 45.78, and Patrick Verrilli was 16th in 45.83, followed by John Fortuna (22nd, 46.16), Ryan Van Heyst (24th, 46.21) and Michael Hueglin (31st, 46.69).
The Wilton girls team was sixth out of 12 teams on the mountain on Wednesday, with a time of 299.78.
The Warriors suffered defeats against Class S powers Barlow (295.55) and Weston (297.47), but defeated Class L rivals Glastonbury (303.11) and Cheshire (329.23).
Wilton is now 5-3 overall and 2-2 in Class S.
Freshman Kira Howard had her second fourth-place overall finish in two meets, with a time of 45.21.
Julia Bonnist was the team’s second finisher, as she was 29th in a time of 49.17, followed by Hope Ullman (43rd, 50.43), Emily O’Brien (45th, 50.61), Katie Reid (56th, 51.78) and Megan Kaeyer (59th, 52.58).
