Reed powers Darien past Wilton baseball team

George Reed drove in five runs to lead the Darien baseball team to an 8-1 victory over host Wilton on Friday afternoon.

It was the third game in three days for the Warriors, who are now 1-2.

Reed hit a three-run homer to give Darien a 6-1 lead and then added a two-run double in the sixth inning to put the Blue Wave ahead, 8-1.

Wilton got its lone run in the bottom of the second on Jason Rothstein's double, which scored JT Morin.

Andrew Nault was the winning pitcher for Darien, while Ethan Segall took the loss for the Warriors.
