Morin shuts out Westhill on three-hitter

With the way Wilton has been pitching this season, spectators could not be blamed for thinking Wednesday's game with Westhill was decided in the first inning.

And that hunch would have been correct.

The Warriors got two runs in the bottom of the first to take a 2-0 lead, which was more than enough support for left-handed starter JT Morin. Morin pitched a three-hit shutout as Wilton came away with a 6-0 victory, boosting its overall record to 9-1 at the halfway point of the regular season.

Morin, who is now 4-0 this spring, struck out nine batters and walked just one in another commanding performance.

Scott Shouvlin's three-run triple highlighted a four-run third inning for Wilton. Harry Sabo finished with two hits, including an RBI double, and Jason Rothstein added an RBI single.

Starter Luke Dawson took the loss for Westhill, which fell to 3-6 overall.
