Jonas, Zawislak get hat tricks in Wilton's 9-2 win

The Wilton boys hockey team bounced back from a 5-0 defeat to Fairfield earlier in the week to beat the Stamford Black Knights, 9-2, on Friday afternoon.

Hat tricks by Kyle Jonas and Ned Zawislak, as well as a pair of goals by David Craven, led the way for the Warriors (6-7), who controlled the game throughout.

After Craven scored the opening goal nearly three minutes into the game, Jonas took over, scoring all three of his goals in a span of 4:20 in the first period to give the Warriors a sizeable lead.

Luke Rizzo, Jameson Hill, and Craven all picked up assists on Jonas’ goals.

Though the Black Knights got on the board late in the first period, Wilton kept firing offensively in the second, with Craven, Zawislak, and John Fung each scoring for the Warriors.

Stamford’s Owen Kilian scored his team's second goal of the game — in between Zawislak’s and Fung’s goals — making it 7-2 Wilton after two.

Zawislak scored the only two goals of the third period to complete his hat trick and the Warriors' win.
