Hersch's goal leads Wilton girls soccer team past Warde
The Wilton High girls soccer team defeated Fairfield Warde, 1-0, on Saturday in Fairfield to remain unbeaten over its last nine games.
The Warriors, who are now 8-2-3 this season, have six wins and three ties during the unbeaten stretch.
The game’s lone goal came off the foot of Rebecca Hersch, off an assist by Lindsay Knutson, in the 10th minute of play.
Wilton closes out the regular season with three games against struggling teams this week. Wilton faces Trinity Catholic (0-13) on Monday at home, travels to Norwalk (3-11) on Tuesday, and finishes against Stamford (4-10) on Thursday at home on Senior Night.
