Gymnastics: Wilton off to 3-0 start

The Wilton High gymnastics team improved to 3-0 on Friday with wins over New Canaan and Westhill at home.

The Warriors, who scored a season-high 137.75, have now won 34 straight regular-season meets.

Christina Brandt and Annie Saltarelli led the way, each winning two events.

Brandt was first on both vault (8.7) and floor (9.15), second on beam (8.6) and third on bars (8.8) for an all-round score of 35.25.

Saltarelli was first on both bars (8.9) and beam (9.2), and second on floor (9.1), for a 35.3 all-around score.

The Warriors had a big performance on floor with a team score of 36.6, with other scores of 9.0 or higher by Meredith Nash (9.05) and Sam Farhi (9.0).

Also scoring on vault were Nicole Babkowski (8.3), Nash (8.25) and Meghan Graham (8.15).

On bars, Graham (8.8) and Riley Wadehra (8.4) rounded out the scoring, while on bears, Farhi (7.95) and Izzy Meltzer (7.4) scored.

Westhill scored 111.5 and New Canaan scored 102.85.
