Second-seeded Staples knocked the Wilton High girls tennis team out of the FCIAC tournament with a 6-1 win over the Warriors on Wednesday in Westport.
Wilton, the seventh seed, dropped to 11-7 on the season. The Warriors had won four in a row coming into the match. The Wreckers improved to 15-2.
The only win for the Warriors came at first doubles, where Taylor Ingerman and Leigh Culnane rallied for a three-set win over Megan Brown and Kristin Butler, 1-6, 6-3, 6-3. Staples won the other six matches in straight sets.
Next up for Wilton is the Class L state team tournament, which opens on Monday, May 30.
