Wilton High freshman Maddi Stow advanced to the girls tennis State Open semifinals with a pair of wins today at Yale University.

Stow, the sixth seed, defeated Hannah Riley of Ellington in the third round, 6-0, 6-2, and third-seeded Caroline Kelly of Newtown in the quarterfinals, 6-3, 6-3. She takes on second-seeded Anna Rogers of Westhill on Tuesday.

Two Wilton doubles teams also had strong runs in the tournament, with both teams winning three matches before falling just short of the quarterfinals today.

Javier Fiol and Maya Srivastava lost to sixth-seeded Sarah Alptekin and Catherine Hatfield of Darien, 6-4, 6-3. Bridget Cott and Maddie Murphy fell to eighth-seeded Jessica Levine and Alyssa Lyon of Barlow, 6-4, 6-4.
