Girls lacrosse: Warriors' win streak ends at eight

The Wilton High girls lacrosse team had its winning streak ended at eight in a row as the Warriors lost at Darien on Thursday, 13-8, in a battle between the FCIAC’s two undefeated (in conference play) teams.

Darien (11-1) led at halftime, 7-3, and by as many as seven goals, 11-4, in the second half.

The Warriors dropped to 10-2 with the loss.

Laura Knapp and Laine Parsons each had two goals for Wilton, with single tallies from Makenna Pearsall, Shannon Quinlan, Sara Dickinson and Cecily Freilich. Pearsall also had three assists.

Darien finished the game with a 21-18 edge in shots on goal.

Hannah Wiltshire had eight saves in goal for the Warriors, while Darien got 10 saves from Kyra Gardner.

Emily Stein led Darien’s offense with five goals and three assists.
