Girls hockey: Warriors edge Greenwich, 2-1

The Wilton-Norwalk girls hockey team remained unbeaten in FCIAC play, but it wasn’t pretty as the Warriors eked out a surprisingly tight 2-1 win at Greenwich on Saturday evening.

The Warriors (4-3) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Nicole Lue and Meghan Keating, but that was all they could manage against winless Greenwich, which dropped to 0-7.

“We dominated most of the game just couldn’t put the puck in the net”, commented coach Melissa Hawkins. “After we went up 2-0 early in the first, we played down to Greenwich’s level and let them stay in the game.”

The Warriors improved to 4-0 in the conference.
