After jumping out to an early two-goal jump on defending state runner-up Hall/Conard, the Wilton High girls hockey team couldn’t hold onto the lead and fell short, 5-3, on Monday night in West Hartford.

The Warriors (1-1) were again led by Nicole Lue, who had her second three-goal game in a row to open the season.

Hall/Conard erupted for four goals in the second period to erase a 2-0 deficit and take a 4-3 lead, and added an insurance goal in the third period for the win.

“All and all, I was pleased with the girls. Their forecheck was much better and they were looking to make plays and crashed the net hard,” commented head coach Melissa Hawkins.

Brooke Jonsson played well in goal for the Warriors, she added, while Amanda D’Arbanville and Sam Enborg also had strong performances on the forward line.
