Girls basketball: Wilton rallies past Pomperaug, 53-48

The Wilton High girls basketball team was 3-0 for the week going into this afternoon’s game in Southbury, going up against a tough 12-1 Pomperaug squad.

When the final buzzer sounded, the Warriors had their fourth win of the week, and sixth straight overall, 53-48.

Wilton (11-3) rallied from a three-point deficit after three quarters, outscoring Pomperaug 14-6 in the final period.

Elizabeth Breslin led the way with 18 points, going 9-for-13 from the floor. She also had eight rebounds.

Caroline Sweeny chipped in with 14 points and 15 rebounds.

Lauren Robertson added eight points and 10 rebounds, eight on the offensive end.

Emily Tuin had six points, Zoe Rappaport added five points, and Taylor Floyd rounded out the scoring with two points.

Robertson, Breslin and Rappaport each had two assists.
