The Wilton High field hockey team advanced to the FCIAC championship game with a 3-0 win over Fairfield Warde on Tuesday evening at Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk.

The second-seeded Warriors (17-1) will play either top-seeded Darien or fourth-seeded New Canaan on Friday night at 7 at Brien McMahon.

Megan Cunningham tipped in a long blast by Jill Detrick-Yee just over 10 minutes into the game to give Wilton a 1-0 lead, but Warde hung tough and the Warriors couldn’t add to their tally despite repeated advances in the first half, which ended with Wilton up 1-0.

The Warriors made it 2-0 about five minutes into the second half when Kristin Godin, who was a real standout for Wilton all game, scored off a Cunningham pass.

Wilton added an insurance goal with 6:20 left in the game, with Emmie Arrix scoring off a Godin assist.

Sixth-seeded Warde dropped to 9-6-2-1 with the loss.

Wilton finished with a 7-2 edge in shots at goal, and 10-2 edge in penalty corners.
