John D'Elisa ran for three touchdowns as the Wilton High football team routed winless Bassick, 38-14, on Friday night at Memorial Stadium.

It was the second straight victory for the Warriors, who improved to 3-1.

After a scoreless first quarter, Wilton reeled off 17 unanswered points in the second quarter. Quarterback Brett Phillips ran for a touchdown and threw to Paul Sorbo for another. Those scores flanked EJ Sassani's field goal.

Bassick (0-4) scored the first points of the third quarter to close within 17-6, but Wilton responded on D'Elisa's two-yard touchdown run to make it 24-14.

The Lions scored on a 75-yard touchdown run and converted the two-point conversion to pull within 24-14 going into the final quarter. But Wilton got two more touchdowns from D'Elisa on runs of 24 and four yards to close the scoring.
