The Wilton girls cross country team ended the regular season on Tuesday by beating two of three opponents at Tod’s Point in Greenwich.

The key win was a 24-33 decision over Darien, which clinched the FCIAC East Division championship for the second straight season for the Warriors (11-4). It was Wilton’s 16th division title overall.

Next up is the FCIAC championship meet next Wednesday at Waveny Park in New Canaan.

Morgan McCormick had another dominating win, completing the 2.9-mile course in a time of 17:03.42, beating second-place finisher Zoe Harris of Greenwich by more than two minutes and 21 seconds.

Paula Perez Pelaez was the second Wilton finisher, and eighth overall, in 20:31.53. Rounding out the team’s top seven were Eliza Snyder (11th, 20:55.98), Emily Welch (12th, 21:00.35), Elizabeth Lynch (21st, 22:04.44), Caleigh McMorris (23rd, 22:12.14) and Erin Sweeney (33rd, 22:57.48).

The Warriors lost to Greenwich, 20-42, but defeated Westhill. The Cardinals had six of the top seven finishers.
Boys
The Wilton High boys cross country team finished the regular season at 7-8, after Tuesday’s meet.

The Warriors scored a win over Westhill (21-38) but lost a tight one to Greenwich (27-28), in addition to losing to Darien (23-36).

Tyler Zengo finished third overall to lead Wilton, with a time of 17:01.04 for 2.9 miles. Flynn Crowther was right behind in 17:08.06, placing fifth.

Rounding out the top seven were Davis Cote (12th, 17:38.1), Sam Rosen (17th, 17:56.75), Jack Rosen (18th, 18:03.69), James Steward (23rd, 18:20.16) and Benjamin Leung (27th, 18:26.76).
