The Wilton High boys tennis team has one singles player and two doubles teams still alive following two rounds of the Class L state tournament on Saturday.

In the singles bracket, freshman Nick Condos reached the round of 16 with two straight-set wins, losing no games, sweeping Aneesh Venuturumilli of Farmington and Micah Dubitzky of RHAM by scores of 6-0, 6-0.

Condos is the second seed in Class L.

The WHS doubles team of Jordan Lord and Henry Murphy is the top seed in the tourney. They had a first-round bye and then swept Greg Plachno and Nicholas Trottier of Bristol Eastern, 6-3, 6-3.

The Wilton team of Alexander Hattenbach and Timothy Sullivan, seeded seventh, beat Eric Harkins and Quinn Petroske of Notre Dame-West Haven in the first round, and scored a 6-0, 6-0 win over Greg Brockett and Matthew Zackin of Pomperaug in round two.

Back in singles, Quentin Thouvenot reached the second round with a straight-set win over Jose Mondragon Velazquez of Pomperaug, 6-0, 6-1. Thouvenot was then ousted by Kyle Fay of Daniel Hand in a tough 6-3, 7-6 loss.

The doubles team of Conrad Emerson and Ryan Walsh won its first match, 6-3, 6-3, over Frank Colon and Dylan Hernandez of Platt. Emerson and Walsh lost in the second round to Gianni Lomonaco and Brian Lynch of Daniel Hand, 6-3, 6-3.

Two other Wilton singles players made it into the first round with preliminary round wins.

Tor Aronson topped William Lank of Wethersfield, 8-1, before falling to 10th-seeded Tim Derby of Darien, 6-1, 6-0.

Jay Cassone advanced with an 8-1 win over Ryan Dean of Newington. In the first round, Cassone lost to Michael Karr of Darien, 7-5, 6-2.

The tourney resumes on Tuesday at noon with the round of 16 at Hall High School in West Hartford.
