Boys lacrosse: Warriors push Yorktown to the limit in 10-9 loss

Yorktown broke a halftime tie with two goals in the third quarter, and held the Wilton High boys lacrosse team scoreless for most of the second half to score a 10-9 win over the Warriors on Saturday night in the annual Turnbull Cup game in Wilton.

The Warriors (3-2) were led by Charles McGovern with three goals and two assists, while Christian Hansson and Reid Melillo each scored two goals.

Harrison Koch had one goal and four assists and Michael Lynch also scored.

Lynch and Hansson each had an assist.

Jameson Hill made nine saves in goal.

Mike Dedvukaj scored six goals for Yorktown (8-1), which is ranked 15th in the country in the most recent Nike/Lacrosse Magazine national rankings.

The game was tied 8-8 at halftime, and Yorktown scored two goals in the third quarter to lead 10-8. Wilton scored a late goal to cut the lead to one.

Wilton finish with a 23-19 edge in shots on goal.
