The Ridgefield High boys hockey team recovered from a 3-1 deficit in the second period to beat Wilton, 5-4, on Wednesday in the annual Winter Garden Cup contest between the teams in Ridgefield. Goals from Jameson Hill, Ned Zawislak and Henry Lee helped Wilton (4-15) open a 3-1 lead in the second period. But Ridgefield (14-4) got goals from Cam McGuire and Henry Gough to tie the score entering the final period. McGuire then got the go-ahead goal midway through the third period, and Liam Smith followed with a goal to make it 5-3. Zawislak scored his second goal late in the game to make it 5-4, but Wilton could not get the equalizer. Joey Cullinan had two assists and Lee and David Craven each had one for the Warriors. Goalie Nick Wells, who stopped 45 of Ridgefield's 50 shots, was named Wilton's Most Valuable Player.
