Wins for Wilton football, volleyball
Wilton High teams had the following results over the weekend:
Wilton 40, Bridgeport Central 14
The Wilton Hight football team led 40-0 at halftime and cruised to a 40-14 victory at Bridgeport Central on Saturday. The Warriors are now 3-2 on the season.
Harvey Alexander led a Wilton rushing attack that churned out more than 300 yards on the ground, as he ran for 116 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries.
Brian Calabrese threw two touchdown passes and also run for a TD.
Dean DiNanno had a 63-yard touchdown run on his only carry, while Drew Herlyn had two carries for 46 yards and a TD, and also had a 24-yard touchdown catch. Robbie Hermann had a 30-yard TD catch,
Defensively, A.J. Pykosz led the way with seven tackles (four solo) along with a sack and caused fumble.
Dean DiNanno four solo tackles, while Drew Phillips and Peter Delfeus were both in on four tackles. Wilton also got three tackles each by Ryan McDermott, Jack DiNanno and Tom Costello, while Mike Diconstanzo had a sack.
Kyle Phillips had two interceptions and Costello also had a pick. Tyler Previte and Kyle Shifrin each had a fumble recovery,
Kicker Will Sullivan was perfect on the day, going 5-for-5 on PATs in addition to booting a 28-yard field goal.

The Wilton girls volleyball team got a much-needed win on Friday, sweeping Bridgeport Central at home, 3-0. The Warriors ended a six-match losing streak and improved to 5-9 on the season.
Sommer Rogg had 11 kills and 10 service points (five aces) to lead the attack, while Juliana Musilli had 22 service points (seven aces). Cate McCabe contributed 14 service points (five aces) and six kills.
