Because the Wilton Senior American Legion baseball team didn't pick up where it left off, it will now move on.

After dropping eight of its final 10 regular-season games and barely qualifying for the state tournament, Wilton began the post-season with a 4-3 victory over Shelton on Saturday in Shelton.

Wilton (14-14) will now face Bethel in a second-round Southern Division state playoff game Sunday at 1 at Bethel High School.

The winner of that game meets Greenwich in the third round on Monday at 4:30 at Greenwich High School.
